Facebook issues a statement regarding the KIDS Act.

Chris Kelly, Chief Privacy Officer for Facebook issued a statement regarding the Keeping the Internet Devoid of Sexual Predators Act (KIDS) signed by President George W. Bush on Monday along with the Protect our Children Act.

It seems Facebook supports the act… Well duh!

You would think that all the Social Media sites would jump on board and shout about this…  the problem is… that even with the KIDS ACT, sites like Facebook and MySpace are a minefield of inappropriate material and pornography that parents of young teens should be continually monitoring.

Too often parents trust the monitoring to these Social sites and government ACTS when in reality it’s not usually the convicted sexual predator that is the biggest threat.

Parents … Please take the time to be aware of what your children are being exposed to on the net.
