Fun And Funny Christmas Songs

Fun And Funny Christmas Songs

There are all types of Christmas songs. Some of the most popular categories are Christian Christmas songs, pop Christmas songs, and country Christmas songs. There are some songs in each category that are fun to sing or listen to with friends, family, or alone. Other than in the Christian Christmas songs category there are songs in the other categories that are meant to be funny.

There are some Christian Christmas songs that are real fun to sing or listen to with your family. Two of my favorites are “Go Tell It On The Mountain” (Go tell it on the mountain, Our Jesus Christ is born) and “Joy To The World” (Joy to the world! the Lord is come). Both songs relate to the birth of Jesus.

A couple of cute songs that most kids like are “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth”. Some fun Christmas songs to sing with your family are “Deck the Halls”, “Jingle Bells”, and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”. It is fun to hear the kids yell while singing “Deck the Halls”.

“We Wish You A Merry Christmas” is a song that can be sung anywhere. You may have sung it on a Christmas hayride, while caroling, or at your family Christmas gathering.

There are some Christmas songs that are supposed to be funny. I will call then funny (or stupid) xmas songs.

The song “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer” is supposed to be funny. From a family standpoint it is pitiful. The reason grandma got un over was because she’d been drinkin’ too much eggnog. The family said that it’s not Christmas without grandma but their main concern was whether to open up her gifts or send them back. Grandpa did not think much of grandma or have much respect for her. He was takin’ this so well while watchin’ football, drinking beer, and playin’ cards with cousin Belle. This is supposed to be a funny song but it would be sad to see a family like this.

In the song “The 12 Days After Christmas” a guy and his true love got in a fight on the first day after Christmas. Then he proceed to do stupid things each day such as shooting the partridge, wringing the neck of the turtle doves, and using the French hen to make soup.

“The Chipmunk Song” was funny the first time I heard it many years ago. Now, you just have to say, not again.

There are lots of other fun (or stupid) Christmas songs but I will end with “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”. I don’t think that I even need to comment on this one.
