If Only We Had A Real Life DVR Remote

If Only We Had A Real Life DVR Remote

I’m not talking about the “real life” remotes of the 1960?s.   You know the “hey kid go change the channel” kind that parents used prior to the clever invention that showed up in the 1970’s.

I’m thinking more like the Time Warner Cable TV DVR Remote that comes with your new Time Warner bundle.  The one where you get Cable TV, High Speed Internet and Digital Phone all in one easy to afford payment.

If only THAT remote worked in real life …

We could hit the “pause”  button at that perfect moment when the baby is finally sleeping quietly in the crib.

Or how about hitting the “fast forward” button through the teen years.

But my favorite would be having the “rewind” button for day that your precious baby is heading off to college.

Unfortunately, the life remote has yet to be invented so we will have to settle for the DVR remote that stops live TV and enables us to stop and finish writing an article like this while still keeping up with our favorite programs and sporting events.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very grateful for the wonder that is cable TV DVR and the power of the remote control.  I’m not sure if my kids would be willing to jump up every few minutes to change the channel and I know they would miss the luxury of pushing the pause button right in the middle of the best scenes in my favorite movie so they can go text a friend, but oh what a joy it would be to have a delete button that would stop the fighting, whining and complaining that isn’t quite “live TV” but surely is “real life”.

Are you listening Time Warner Cable TV?
