Las Vegas New Years – The Parties and What to Do

Las Vegas at New Year’s is a grand and festive place perhaps even more so than other big cities across our great nation.

The lights and glitz seem even more and even brighter at this holiday time of year.

I’ve never been in Las Vegas to ring in the new year but I have been there twice in my life most recently on last year’s Super Bowl.

I’d like to be able to tell you I remember the greatest Super Bowl in my lifetime (hopefully I’ll see one to equal it since I’ve only been around for a few) but unfortunately both times I’ve been in Vegas are the only times I’ve been so drunk as to pass out.

So you can take this as something of a warning to avoid overindulgence in this city of fun.

But after taking a look around and talking to a few people there’s definitely some really fun stuff to be done should you find yourself in Las Vegas for the new year or plan to be there.

This year Las Vegas is calling its New Year’s Eve Bash America’s party (I believe it gives itself this title every year) and the theme will be “Takin’ It to the Streets” and will feature music from classic rock and dance techno-style songs.

There will be a huge themed fireworks and pyrotechnic display going on all along the strip for New Year’s Eve.

There’ll be tribute bands for Billy Joel, U2, Kiss, the Rolling Stones, Queen, and Aerosmith.

It’s being hyped as the place to be for New Year’s Eve.

As you can probably guess there are hundreds if not thousands of parties in Vegas hotels, clubs, lounges and other establishments.  And I’m sure they’ll be volumes more private parties and private residences.

Here are some of the best New Year’s parties on for you to take a look at:

  • The club Pure is having a gigantic party and tickets are $200
  • Tao is having a get up and dance party for $150
  • Voodoo Lounge is simply fun themed party for $200
  • Jet’s party is inside the action for $150
  • Hawaiian Tropic Zone is having a five hour top shelf party for $179

I believe these are entry fees but some alcohol may be included.  Obviously, if you enjoy the finer liquors and spirits the Hawaiian Tropic Zone party would be of interest to you.

Here are some of the best in popular New Year’s game shows you can check out:

  • Blue Man group
  • Penn and Teller
  • Le Reve

You can check out more information and some other potential party destinations in Las Vegas here.

Also, one other thing of interest I’ve found is Kid Rock will be performing live at the Pearl concert Theatre and doors are at 10:30 p.m. I’m sure it will be a lively crowd, an awesome concert and a great way to bring in the new year.

You now have plenty of ideas for having a grand time in Las Vegas for new years.  Tell me in the comments what you’re planning for your new year celebration.
