Movie Warning: Marley and Me

Movie Warning:  Marley and Me

Parenting Help Parenting Movie Reviews Parenting News Ok, I’ll be honest and admit I haven’t seen the movie or read the book. However, from the comments I’ve been reading on the web, this is definitely NOT a movie for children.

Quite a few parents are upset that the trailer of this film does not accurately depict the contents. There seems to be quite a bit of sexual content, a miscarriage, a stabbing, and a long drawn out process of putting a beloved dog to sleep. Just a little note, it is rated PG.

Parents have reported leaving the theater during the film because it was too intense for their children.

We all know as parents that death is a part of life and cannot be avoided. Most parents would agree that it is a sensitive subject that should be handled very carefully. A packed theater may not be the most opportune time to have this conversation.

So, consider yourselves duly warned. This is not a Beethoven type movie.
